Web 2.0 is a very popular trend in today's Internet programming. Users spend lots of time blogging and communicating with their friends all over the world using popular blog services and community portals. When registering on a website, user provides his or her personal info. Part of this info can be published in signatures to posts and messages. If one uses several sites, the same information has to be entered on every website and there is centralized storage or tools to manage user data. Our customer wished to start a Web 2.0 community site and enable its users to publish their personal profiles (name, interests, hobbies etc.) in popular blogs and community portals like MySpace. The website had to provide tools for managing the user's published profiles centrally on all websites the user is registered on.
Solution overview:
Inteks developed a Web 2.0 site where registered users answer several questions and generate a banner describing the user. The generated banner (code snippet) can be inserted into signatures and posts at popular blogs and community portals, including:
